Charlotte for Training Just Before the Holidays?
I was going to be going to Charlotte, north Carolina for a three week training. I am going to have to be there right after Thanksgiving, the Monday after for three consecutive weeks. I really do not want to be away from home that time of year for three weeks. It is such a busy time of year with all the holiday preparations and family that comes into visit and everything else that goes on I am very unhappy that the training has to be all the way across the country this time of year. It really did not seem like our lives were being taken into consideration here but I suppose I have a job and should be happy about that and not complain. But I can’t help it.
I tried to talk the boss into booking rooms at Charlotte luxury hotels I mean at least if we have to be there just before the holidays at least they could put us up in some nice hotels and hotel rooms instead of the cheapest hotel they could find. Of course he didn’t hear that and was not going to spend a penny more than he absolutely had to. He actually booked us into a hotel that was only $50.00 a night, I was thinking this is just not going to be fun.
Well we did get luck after all. When we got to Charlotte we found the hotel we were supposed to be staying at had been closed due to a fire and there were no other hotels with vacancies for the three weeks but a 4 star luxury hotel. We were really happy to get the upgrade, even under these circumstances. I really wish I could have seen the look on the bosses face when he found out he was going to have to be spending the extra money on a nicer hotel for us during the three week training.
Well we made it through the training and I got some shopping done while there so the time off there was not a complete waste.
