Building a Swimming Pool in Dallas

Posted by Brian on Oct 19, 2010 in Construction

When you dream of having a pool in your backyard, chances are you’re thinking of cool water, beautiful tile, maybe a spa or waterfall, and all the fun times you can have with friends and family under the hot Texas sun . What you’re not thinking about is the months of construction, long lists of decisions to be made, and the true costs of construction. The only way to turn that dream into a reality, however, is to start considering all those things.

The single most important part of building a swimming pool is choosing the right Dallas pool builder . Not only will a good builder walk you through the process of all the decisions you have to make, but they will be a part of your life for the duration of the project. That’s literally part of your life as your home becomes a construction site filled with workers and inspectors and certified plumbers and electricians.

When choosing a builder, take time to get estimates from several companies. You’ll also want to visit showrooms or office to meet the builder in person. Make sure to ask for references and then call the references and ask careful questions. Lastly, be sure that you verify both the builder’s license and their current insurance. Once you’ve completed your due diligence, you’ll be much more comfortable entrusting a pool contractor with your beloved dream.

Work for the Soil Screener

Posted by Brian on Aug 22, 2010 in Construction

Today, the construction industry has some amazing tools to get large jobs done in a short amount of time without sacrificing safety. There are plenty of choices in the kinds of equipment a company needs to get the project done. One can flip through the Construction Equipment Magazine and see the comparison in all construction and farming equipment like cement trucks, backhoes, forklifts, excavators and many more.

In construction, there are plenty of times when the project calls for a soil screener to sift through the rock and soil. This is the only way to get large amounts of earth sifted into piles that built on grade. The large rocks are separated from the small ones and all of them are separated out of the dirt. This would have taken forever without the right equipment. In the old days, it sure did.

Once the soil and rocks are separated, it can be hauled away. The different grades of rock are often sold on there own for other projects like landscaping and building. This is were companies can make good money off the work of the amazing screener machinery that they own. Make money separating it and hauling it away. Make money reselling the leftovers to someone else who needs it. What a great plan.
