Great Jewelry Deals in Udaipur

Posted by Brian on Nov 25, 2009 in Travel

Arrived in Jaipur very late and checked into a hotel. I had only one day to explore, and I really didn’t find too many points of interest. I sure I’m wrong about the place, having jet-lag and being sick, I guess wouldn’t make me an expert about this place. I did enjoy the expensive rickshaw tour!

So, basically, I used the Internet and did some planning for later the latter part of my trip. I found out that both the memory card in my camera and my back up card, both have nasty viruses on them. I couldn’t upload the photos off the cards and the virus software on one of the computers isn’t working! Ouch.

Udaipur was my next stop and after looking into a particular hotel and I booked it online. It had a nice view at an excellent price. I went into town to explore and I purchased a nice pair of green linen pants and a long-sleeve shirt, the color of brown. I really appreciated the jewelry here too. Apparently, the silver and gold is of good quality and can be purchased at a very reasonable rate. I checked out the current silver price and I’d say that I feel I got a really good bargain, almost at cost, I’d say.

I was advised that I need to bargain when I find something I like and figure out how much I think it’s worth, or what I think the price should be. Once I have this price in mind, then I can start to bargain. If the seller won’t drop to my price, then I don’t buy it. That way, I’ll feel never being ripped off. Remember, sellers, old or young, are very smart and won’t sell if it’s not worth it to them. I’ve tried this tactic every-time now when I shop and I nearly always get the item I want at the price I want, I’ve even got it for less than what I thought!

I’m still feeling a little sick, so I went back to my hotel in Udaipur to get some rest. Later, I manage to get out and see the Monsoon Palace, which has been built on top of a mountain and as the name suggests, it’s for when the rain comes, because it never floods there, I also think it was for protection too, because it’s way the heck up there.
